Membership
The Alaska Watercolor Society welcomes new members and offers four levels of membership to the Society:
Signature Members - Signature Membership is open to any artist who has had a painting exhibited in two AKWS Juried Shows and one other juried watermedia exhibition. This position of membership may vote, participate in Signature Member exhibitions, and use the initials AKWS when signing their name.
Associate Members - Since the primary objective of the AKWS is to promote public awareness and knowledge about watercolor painting, we welcome all interested individuals to become Associates of the Alaska Watercolor Society. Associates may join at any time, may attend all meetings and participate in most events sponsored by the Society. This position of membership may not vote unless the member is currently serving on the Board of Directors. Associates may not participate in exhibitions designed for Signature members only.
Juried Members - Juried Membership is open to any artist who has had a painting exhibited in at least one AKWS Juried Show. This position of membership has the same privileges as Associates.
Student Members - Student members have the same privileges as Associates. Dues are less for full-time students.
Annual dues cover the period from May 1st through April 30 of each year: $25 for Signature Members; $20 for Associates and Juried member; and $5 for full-time students. Dues must be paid in May for the following calendar year and are not prorated for partial years. All members receive the newsletter "Brush Strokes".
